Labels: Encounter with a snake
Evening, the weather was cooling after the rain.
Decided to do some gardening.
Wanted to trim the grass beside the fencing- (fenced to prevent
snoopy from coming out ).
As I removed the rectangular plastic flower box ........I saw
a SNAKE. I called Ben who was inside the sitting room...
overseeing what I was doing.
I told him there's a snake. Instead of coming out immediately
to help me ......he nicely told me.... is not a snake...
without even taking a look.
SIGH!!!!!!!!
Maybe I should have freaked out and screamed......
I told him sarcastically .....I know wat is a SNAKE.......then
he quickly came out........took the cangkuk ....
He tried to chop the snake .....it was gliding away between the bricks.
Ben managed to 'Chop, Chop' its tail.........'the end' of the snake.
Neighbour Lee came out saw the one foot long , silverish grey creature....
This is a poisonous snake he informed us ........
Thank and praise the Lord, Ben and I was not bitten by it.
Earlier Ben and I were watching a documentary
about a village in Thailand and its snakes.
And .......later we saw a REAL one ......alamak!!!! in our garden.
This village in Thailand teaches small girls to danced holding a snake ......
clinging on their bodies......and believe it or not....
putting the snake into their mouth......
The unique village of Ban Kok Sa-Nga (population 655), in Isan, Thailand.
It's the only place like it in the world and for a good reason.
What started over fifty years ago as an advertising gimmick for some
country villagers has turned into a deadly cottage industry;
in this strange little village, the world's most dangerous serpent,
the King Cobra, has become both a pet and a business partner.
The entire village—from elders to children—works as one
and performs relentlessly at their temple to attract tourists and herb buyers.
The main attraction is the boxing matches, man versus snake, one on one!
Bites are commonplace, but unbelievably the village has no anti-serum
to combat the deadly toxins and the nearest hospital is over an hour away by car.
Dangerous performance-sport of snake-boxing,
the art of theatrically antagonizing the largest venomous snakes in the world.
During Thai New Year's celebration, from day to night performances are held
and is the most lucrative and most dangerous time of the year.
Some of the boxers have been bitten dozens of times,
but despite losing fingers and friends to their deadly serpentine pets,
the boxers love their snakes and their perilous profession.
Come see the world premiere and observe the adventurous
lives of the proud villagers who casually look death in the eye every day
to eke out a meager living.
