Prayer for Students

God of Light and Truth,
thank you for giving me
a mind that can know
and a heart that can love.
Help me to keep learning every day of my life,
for all knowledge leads to you.
Let me be aware of your presence
in all things and at all times.
Encourage me when work is difficult
and when I am tempted to give up;
encourage me when my brain seems slow
and the way forward is difficult.
Grant me the grace to put my mind to use
exploring the world you have created,
confident that in you there a wisdom
that is real.
Amen.

Prayer for Teenagers

With each new day that dawns, I am growing up, O Lord.
It's not too soon to start thinking of what I want to be.
It's very hard, I think,
to make the right decision
but I pray that you will help and guide me.
Show me what to do,
let me share, someday,
my talents where they're needed.
And when you show me,
give me courage to be generous enough
to do what you want.
Amen.

whisperings of nature

Morning sis brought mum n sintair over to the house.
Just about to enter the house Sintair said she forgot
to bring mum's eyedrops. Sis was annoyed and started
to lecture Sintair as she hopped into the car.

I helped mum into the house. The phone rang....
sis on the line....her car tyre punctured.
Took mum along to fetch Sintair back to my house.
Sis was about to bring Sintair over when Sintair
saw the rear tyre on the right side of the car
flattened.

Blessing in disguise.....Sintair normally remembers
to bring eyedrops but today she forgot.
If not for this sis would have driven the car
straight to Ipoh Garden ( she was suppose to go
to Ah Suen's house ). Can imagine half way
her tyre go flat....and how frustated and annoyed
she will be. At least it happened at home,
she can wait in comfort for her good pal
Edmund to come fix it for her.

Spent a rewarding half hour with mum.
Did some memory jolting exercise with mum.
Told her to name 3 types of animal, fruits, colours.
Write days of the week.
Played tic-tac-toe .... no winner nor loser.
She seems quite alert playing that game.
Wrote a sentence "Draw a fish"
Told her to carry out the instruction.
She hesitated explaining she cannot draw.
Encouraged her to give it a try....
Both of us had a good laugh at her 'fish'
Drew one for her and told her to follow.
2nd attempt not bad and 3rd was pretty good.
Sintair also had a good laugh with us.

Sky looked gloomy.....mum wanted to go back.
Took them home at 2.45pm
Came back....let Snoopy go thro the house
to the back.
Before letting her in, I placed 2 small
pieces of bread ....one in her bowl,
the other on top of a green plastic stool.
She quickly gobbled the one in her bowl.
I shut the back door and wwent inside the house.

She was whinning...I went to take a look at her.
As she was trying to get the piece of bread,
the stool moved.....and this frightened her.
She tried a few times....then looked at me
as if asking me to help.
I went out and helped her.
Normally she will jump or hum but....
she didn't. Told her 'sit'...she obeyed
without any fuss for the bread. LOL.

Weather is not on my side.......thunder roaring.
Got to stop here.

Thank the Lord for the short moments of joy;
I could share with my mum
For the joy Snoopy brings
and lots more that God has given to me & family.
