Arrived at Bukit Kinding resort together with Susan and Mary Jo. Poor Steven had to come in a separate car carrying a lot of stuff for BBQ that nite. He brought a table, extension wires, lamps to name a few. Soon a few more cars arrived and we went straight to the chalets......opened the door and was greeted with flies inside the chalet (as though we were in Cameron) .....Mary Jo came to the rescue with Ridsect for us.
Weather was great, cooling after the rain in the late afternoon. We started to get ready for the so called BBQ ....used disposable BBQ trays.......thanks Mary Jo for instructing us to pre cook our food otherwise can't imagine how long it will take to BBQ the 50 chicken wings, pork, sausages, corn and sweet potatoes in 3 mini disposable BBQ trays. Food were delicious.....name a few.....Samantha's salad with chickpeas, the purchased kerabu meehoon, Susan's vegetarian pasta, chicken wings and the pork I cooked. It was so dark, could hardly see wat we ate.....depended on the sense of taste to distinguish wat's in the mouth.
With Matthew there brought a lot of laughter with his cheeky and playful manner.....his son told us his dad is childish .....HMMM who is the father and who is the son????? Matthew disturbing Amy, Rachel and Pui Wan trying to put ice cubes through their t-shirt collar........dun try putting some ice cubes back into his .......it will be like trying to do it to a giant. Some of them danced....some chit chatting, some like myself, Margaret, Evelyn, Theresa and her hubby enjoyed watching Matthew and gang having fun......
We ended BBQ party around midnite.....went back to our chalet for a shower and some of us continue chit chatting.
Next morning most of us got up with one common complaint - lack of sleep due to the intense noise of disco drum beats by a group of young fellas from midnite till 5am Breakfast was between 7.30 to 8.30am. Ann brought toaster......so we had toast with sambal/meatfloss/sausages/ham of your choice.....including soft boiled eggs, fruits and cakes...........with coffee/tea. Then Fr. Rudy came and joined us before the start of the retreat. Retreat 9am to 1pm and then lunch at the restaurant before we left for home.
